A coordinated room, without overmatching
Soft furnishings can create a link between pieces you already love. A cushion might repeat a small colour in the curtains; a headboard can introduce a deeper version of the wall colour; a bedspread can give a patterned room a quieter centre. Varying texture keeps the combination interesting.
Start with the largest surface or strongest pattern, then build the supporting pieces around it. There is no need to use the same fabric everywhere. A thoughtful contrast can be just as effective.
