FROM SCHEME TO SPECIFICATION

Keep the design intent in every detail

An early conversation pays off

Curtains and blinds affect more than the window reveal. Track positions, pelmet depths, curtain stacks and fabric returns can influence joinery, lighting and furniture placement. Involving the window treatment details early gives everyone a clearer picture of the space required.

Bring the moodboard, fabric ideas or initial drawings, even if the wider design is still developing. We can discuss how the intended silhouette translates into a heading, lining and fitting arrangement, then identify the decisions that need confirming.

A clear making brief

For each window, it helps to establish the heading, finished drop, draw direction, lining and hardware. Pattern placement, leading edges and trims should be described clearly. Where a client or designer supplies fabric, suitability and the quantity required are agreed before work is commissioned.

The same coordination can extend to cushions, bedspreads, valances, pelmets and upholstered headboards. Repeating a detail thoughtfully can connect a scheme while allowing each piece to retain its own character.

A CLOSER LOOK

A shared plan for the finished room.

Tell us who will approve the specification, who is coordinating site access and how the installation sits within the wider programme. Where builders, electricians or joiners are involved, their interfaces should be discussed before the making details are finalised.

Partnership arrangements are discussed for each project. There are no assumed trade discounts or fixed commitments: the quotation, responsibilities and timing follow the agreed scope.

We welcome conversations with interior designers working on residential and appropriate commercial projects across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and nearby areas.
