A GUIDE TO THE COLLECTION

Choosing your curtain heading

The heading is the way the fabric is arranged at the top of the curtain. It changes the silhouette, the rhythm of the folds and the relationship with your pole or track. Start with the look you like, then consider fabric, lining, the window shape and the room around it.

For a continuous, contemporary ripple, explore Wave. For a stitched, tailored heading, compare single, double and triple pinch pleats or Euro pleats. Pencil pleats create softer gathers; cartridge pleats make a rounded feature; eyelets bring the pole into the design. Each page explains the practical differences.

Made-to-measure curtains are planned around the complete opening, including the finished drop and where the fabric sits when drawn back. Share your window dimensions, any existing fittings and the level of light control you want. We can then help you narrow down a fabric and heading combination.

PLAN THE WHOLE WINDOW

Curtains for the way you use the room

Daylight, privacy & evening comfort

A living room may need a gentle filter during the day and a more private feel after dark. A bedroom may place greater emphasis on light control. Start with those needs, then choose the heading and fabric. Sheers, lined curtains and a separate blind can be combined when there is space for the complete arrangement.

In Berkshire and Buckinghamshire homes, we work with a range of window shapes and interior styles. A period bay and a broad contemporary garden door call for different practical decisions, even when you love the same fabric.

From a sample to a finished curtain

Your curtain is more than its finished width and drop. Fabric fullness, pattern matching, lining and the hardware all affect the way it looks and moves. Consider existing radiators, furniture and door handles before settling on a length or track position.
